About Thad

I grew up in Socastee off of Hwy 814 in Ammons mobile home park. In high school I started a teenage Republican club before becoming an office intern for the late Senator Strom Thurmond.

I graduated from Socastee High School in 1995 and then matriculated to The Citadel to pursue a Marine Corps commission where I was awarded a 3-year academic scholarship. After an injury in Officer Candidates School the Marine Corps was no longer an option so I went to work for the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank in Washington, DC. I later became a field staffer for Congressman Henry Brown.

I was elected to the State House of Representatives in 2003 where I have tried to always be part of the conservative revolution that President Ronald Reagan started many years ago. While serving you in the State House, I have also attended the University of South Carolina Law School.  I graduated this year with plans to practice law in our area while promoting the conservative ideals of less government, lower taxes, and family values in the State House of Representatives.
